Can you believe it’s less than two weeks away?
We rented a huge pavilion, so we will be safe even if it rains! But let’s hope for a gorgeous June day.
Every family should bring their own lunch and drinks. The pavilion has a grill if you want to BBQ. The park also has a snack bar, but it’s not very close to our spot. Feel free to bring a dessert to share.
The pavilion is right next to a playground and a large ball field. So don’t forget to pack a ball, a kite, Frisbee or other sports equipment. Bring a bathing suit and a towel and head to the picnic area beach, which is right around the corner.
There is a $5 charge ($6 for non MD residents) per person to get in the park, but there is no charge for children in car safety or booster seats. Make sure to tell the person at the gate that you are here for the “Touch of Ethiopia on the Chesapeake Picnic” so they can direct you to the Raccoon Pavilion.
